Actor Call Out!

November 11 2020

Miracle Theatre are holding open auditions and want to meet potential new actors for upcoming shows in 2021 and beyond.

Miracle (now 41 years old!) is one of the South West’s key arts organisations, touring to far-flung rural communities across Cornwall and the Southwest with a rich mix of new writing, adapted classics (including Shakespeare) and alternative Christmas shows. Productions are portable, adapting to all kinds of venues, from small to mid-scale. In an average summer we will give over 50 open-air performances, often one-nighters in non-theatre locations.

As a company we use text and physical performance to tell great stories in innovative ways and create memorable characters. We have always focused on design and music and pushed the boundaries of digital. We enjoy making people laugh!

We are looking for professional adult actors with energy and openness, who relish the discoveries that come with a flexible and playful approach to devising theatre.

To put yourself forward please send a ‘self-tape’ (total 5 minutes max) to include:

1.      A reading of Script 1 (click to download)

2.      A reading of Script 2 (click to download)

3.      A lip-sync of your choice! This could be a song, a political speech, or anything else that takes your fancy. Find some examples here and here.

This is not an audition for a specific role or project.

All Miracle productions are made in Cornwall and all performers need to be based here for the duration of projects.

Miracle is dedicated to ensuring equal opportunities for all actors. We welcome submissions from everyone and are committed to removing all forms of discrimination. Please see our Equal Opportunities policy for more details.

Please send your self-tape via a Dropbox link along with your CV to Hannah Stephens, Resident Assistant Director, by midnight on 30th Nov 2020. Shortlisted actors will be interviewed during December, followed by face to face auditions in January (restrictions permitting).
