This week we’ll be performing King Lear at Newhall Farm, Advent with the awe-inspiring backdrop of Bodmin Moor and the final full super-moon of the year! Bodmin Moor is Cornwall’s first Dark Sky Park, boasting some of the clearest constellation views in Cornwall. And guess what? Miracle audiences are invited to camp for free after the show!
————————————————————————
We think Bodmin Moor is the ultimate Cornish backdrop to Shakespeare’s most elemental play. As toil and torment rage through the play, this monolith of Cornish heritage rises up behind, recreating the very wilds that Lear traipses through. As day turns to night, an impressive full super-moon will light the stage and the clearest constellations will be visible as audiences sit on the cusp of Cornwall’s first dark-sky park.
Audiences are invited to enjoy these astronomical views with a complimentary camping experience at Newhall Farm after the show – see the website below for more details. Slumber under ancient star formations and experience Cornwall’s natural nocturnal beauty.
