Miracle Awarded Grant from the UK SPF

We are excited to announce that we have been awarded a game-changing grant from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

As Cornwall’s longest running and most prolific touring company, Miracle Theatre has left an indelible mark on our region’s cultural landscape. For over four decades, we’ve been unwavering in our commitment to delivering high-quality, inclusive live experiences, making theatre accessible to all, regardless of age or background

The SPF grant of £541,016 over 2 years will empower us to develop new ways of working for the future, create new opportunities for Cornish artists and amplify and extend our services, reaching every corner of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, all year round.  Our vision includes:

Miracle Lab:

Miracle Lab will serve as a creative hub, uniting experienced artists and creative practitioners to incubate fresh ideas collaboratively. We will establish a robust theatre production pipeline that embraces experimentation and innovation to develop and refine new touring productions, with Cornish audiences always at the heart of the work.

Miracle Camp:

Miracle Camp is our talent incubator, aimed at discovering and nurturing emerging and mid-career artists in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly. Through residencies and workshops, we will provide writers, directors and actors with a supportive environment to hone their craft. This not only ensures the vitality of Cornwall and The Isles of Scilly’s performing arts but also strengthens Miracle Theatre’s ties with local artists and opens doors to fresh talent.

Miracle Makers:

We’re building a network of passionate individuals across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to represent the essence of these places and bring theatre and creative opportunities to new audiences. Our Miracle Makers will be our local liaisons, guiding us to understand community needs and tailor our programs accordingly. This collaboration enhances community cohesion and well-being, ensuring that our work resonates with local audiences.

Miracle Commissions:

Miracle Commissions is our innovative approach to collaborations with partners across sectors, from social care to festivals. This initiative unlocks opportunities to deliver impactful projects that benefit both parties, promoting creativity and addressing critical societal needs.

Summary:

Through this project we will deliver an additional 40 performances reaching the length of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and build closer connections with at least 15 of the communities we tour to; support 6 associate artists to develop their leadership skills over an extended 18-month period, host 4 residential artist camps in Cornwall, employ or nurture over 50 artists, engage at least 1000 people in meaningful outreach activity and create 725 volunteer opportunities.

The SPF investment is a strategic step towards securing our future. It guarantees sustainable growth, employment opportunities, and increased access to the performing arts for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly residents.
