Thinking about Miracle Summer School?

Whether your young person already loves performing or is simply looking to try something new over the summer holidays, Miracle Theatre’s Summer Youth Programme offers a welcoming space to get creative, meet new people and build confidence.

Led by Miracle Theatre’s Co-Artistic Director Sally Crooks, the programme is designed to be accessible to everyone. No previous theatre experience is needed, just a willingness to join in and have a go.

Throughout the week, young people explore acting, storytelling, improvisation and theatre making through practical workshops and games. Rather than focusing on getting everything right, the emphasis is on working together, trying new ideas and enjoying the creative process.

As Sally explains:

“I’m always interested in creating spaces where young people can find their voice, tell the world about their experiences and express themselves in fun, joyful or even serious ways. It’s about giving them a platform to be themselves and share what matters to them.”

Earlier this year, members of Miracle Young Company shared what they enjoyed most about taking part. Making new friends was a common theme, alongside learning from professional theatre makers, trying new aspects of theatre, including technical production, and performing on a real stage.

Many also said they noticed positive changes in themselves. Young people told us they felt more confident, more connected to others and had made lasting friendships. One participant said the weekly sessions gave them “something to be excited about at the start of each week”, while another described the group as “fun, welcoming and friendly”.

This summer’s programme takes place at The Poly in Falmouth and includes workshops for different age groups, from children taking their first steps into theatre to teenagers looking to develop their skills. The sessions are relaxed, supportive and designed to encourage creativity, whatever your level of experience.

If you’re looking for a creative way to spend part of the summer, we’d love to welcome you along.
