PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP WITH MIKE NEWMAN
@ THE COACH HOUSE, PENLEE HOUSE GALLERY & MUSEUM, PENZANCE
A hands-on workshop for photographers of all abilities. Mike will begin with a ‘how does my camera work?’ introduction, clearing up any hardware and software niggles you might be having. Plus tips on how to get the best from your camera and Photoshop.
Then using Penlee Gallery’s archived photographs as case studies Mike would like to begin an exploration of the archive of the future. Participants will revisit the archived photographs locations, photograph and record the change. Creating the beginnings of a ‘then & now’ log for future generations.
Please bring your camera and a laptop if you have one.
This workshop will involve some walking so please let us know if you will require any additional support to attend this workshop.

Pam approaches her work in an instinctual way allowing it to evolve organically. She began her creative journey having retired after years of working as a midwife. It is probably no surprise there for that she describes her work as ‘often being rounded and tactile’.

CREATE A COUNTRY SONG IN 2 HOURS WITH ‘THE MAGNIFICENT’ TOM ADAMS OF MIRACLE THEATRE @ PENLEE PARK OPEN AIR THEATRE, PENZANCE (OPPOSITE THE PENLEE GALLERY CAFÉ)
Fancy getting in touch with your inner cowboy/cowgirl? Want to get to know the Miracle team a little better? Well now’s your chance! Thanks to FEAST funding, performer and musical director of Miracle’s new summer show, The Magnificent Three, Tom Adams will lead a free workshop as part of PENLEE PARK’S Wild West Week – (Tues 4 – Sat 8 August.). As a group you will create a new country and western song! No experience needed – bring along any musical instruments if you have them! only requirements are: you’re over 18, are up for singing fun – you never know you might fancy performing your new creation as part of the special Friday after show Hoedown featuring Flats and Sharps!

SONGWRITING FOR ART WITH TOM ADAMS @ PENLEE GALLERY
The National Gallery are currently working with musicians to write music about the painting exhibited at the Gallery. The National Gallery’s project is called ‘Soundscapes’, immersive and site-specific, the experience encourages visitors to ‘hear’ the paintings and ‘see’ the sound. In the same way Tom would like to offer art enthusiasts and music enthusiasts the chance to create songs with him inspired by the art exhibited at Penlee Gallery. These songs can then be kept, performed or taught as part of the gallery’s educational programme.
