One Man and his Cow presented by Living Spit 7-10 May 2023 at The Minack Theatre
Get ready to laugh out loud with Living Spit’s “One Man and his Cow.” Farmer Trevor has a big problem. Given just months to live, he is faced with the dilemma of which one of his three children to bequeath his beloved farmstead to. A rural romp, written and performed by “the Morecambe and Wise of Weston Super Mare” (The Daily Telegraph), featuring a multitude of agricultural antics and farmyard frolics, all told with homespun charm and wit and entirely in rhyme and song.
Small Acts “Future Pub” – Thursday 18 May 7pm Kresen Kernow, Redruth and 20 May 2023 at Praa Sands Community Centre
A Journey through Time, Space, Beer and Community. Brewed in Cornwall.
If you could time-travel into the future and walk into a pub, what would you like to see? Robot bar staff, instant nostalgia, or a new social Inn-vention? Drawing on interviews with brewers, publicans, communities and pub campaigners in Cornwall, Future Pub explores the enduring role of pubs in our lives at a time when the future of so many hangs in the balance. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you may win a prize and you’ll never take pubs for granted again!
Cold Dark Matters by Ha Hum Ah – 19 May St Marys, Scilly Isles
There’s a shed in that field. It’s long forgotten. Unloved some would say. There’s nothing really important about that shed. After all, it’s just a shed… Or is it? This is the story of one man’s infatuation with an abandoned shed, that according to one curious stranger, will soon be blown up.
A satirical dark comedy about rural communities, isolation, and faddism, Cold, Dark Matters delves into the murky underwaters of a community in Cornwall and its new resident whose desire for a rural retreat may not be all that they seem.
